Mars is the primal “yes” of incarnation—the spark that turns intention into motion, the heat that lifts a body from the mat and into the arena. Fifth House
Mars in 5th House indicates great “pluck” in starting enterprises and carrying out plans, and gives quick insight into new possibilities; a good understanding may however be seriously threatened by an excessively rash, uncontrolled and masterful manner in word and action. Mars in 6th House has an unfavorable influence upon health. Cuts, attacks of fever, inflammations occur fairly frequently, especially with inharmonious (progressive) directions.
The principal causes of illness are impurity of the blood and irregular action of the heart. When diseases occur the safest and best means of recovery will be by electric treatment, massage, light treatment and similar methods. Specifics and medicines are unnecessary and not effective. Work in the open air, pure non-stimulating food, regular, simple life are the best remedies. As every physical indisposition has its mental counterpart or cause it is desirable for the native as much as possible to create a pure, humane, calm, appreciative atmosphere, to think less of himself and to keep his eyes open to the merits of others, especially of interiors; not to jeer at them, but to try to understand them. In general intercourse with domestics will not be pleasant especially if one has to contend with unwillingness or impudence. Seventh House
Mars in 7th house is a token of much passionate affection but at the same time of much strife and opposition, particularly with those for whom the most affection is cherished. The feelings are extremely vulnerable and when once though it may be only in imagination and not in reality the feelings are hurt, the attitude becomes combative, irritable, sarcastic and quasi-indifferent, which usually makes matters worse.
If well aspected everything will soon be smoothed over again, but if afflicted the breach which, was at first imaginary becomes real to the grief of both parties concerned. It is therefore advisable to think as little as possible of oneself and to try and imagine the other’s feelings. This is of course a difficult lesson for passionate Mars, the more so as the native’s choleric character may result in some degree of rancor and revengefulness. Much love, real self-less love will be necessary to mollify the influence of Mars. And not until then will the “fire” no longer scorch, but warm beneficently.
Eighth House
Mars in 8th House points to increase of property through the partner or through legacies and inheritance. If inharmoniously aspected this position often gives a feeling of being bound, of being unable to reach as much as is wished; the consequence is a certain whimsical attitude and dissatisfaction with oneself. The native often supposes that he will be able to act more freely abroad, away from home, but once there, he finds the opposition is greater than ever.

Mars in 10th House. Great energy for progress, love of enterprise and also much love of work, which always be based on strong and lofty ideals, sustained by a firm belief in the possibility of reaching them and their helpful influence on society. And it is this sense of Truth, this faith, this love of work which embody the greatest possibilities of development. The calling chosen will be one in which a resolute manner is desirable and where ability to use sharp-edged tools is needed e.g. that of a surgeon’ medical man, officer. This position gives love of fame and honor.
When Mars makes few aspects it is wise to strengthen its influence consciously by guarding against pessimistic or weakening feelings and by opening oneself wide to new thoughts, the healthy joy of life and love of action.
When afflicted a revolutionary nature manifests, which opposes all restraint, hot-headed. If the native succeeds in guiding the unbalanced energy of Mars into good directions – e.g. by work that is largely constructive – sorrow, trouble, anxiety and disappointment will in the long run result in such good things that could perhaps never have been obtained had the course of life been easy.
Eleventh House
Mars in 11th House indicates friends who are rather hot-headed, so that differences of opinion will occur fairly often. They are however frank and courteous, so that as a rule a solution will soon be found and the thunderstorm will prove to have purified the air.
Because the 11th house symbolizes also the fulfillment of desires and wishes, this Mars position intimacies that everything depends on the native’s own energy and, personal will-power. It is not only outer work, but especially that which is done within which will bring victory. Twelfth House
Mars in 12th House is a very precarious position which especially in childhood may cause a great deal of trouble. The feelings are vehement and intense and as they usually are long repressed they are apt upon occasion to burst out all the stronger. From a child the native likes to lord it over others; lack of appreciation wounds him deeply and he reacts to it by falling into capricious silence. His feelings are apt to predominate over his mind and this may greatly injure his “capital”, that which is within, as well as outward.
It will, however, be possible for the native with relatively little difficulty to form such a noble and strong ideal of love that it completely dominates physical emotions.
