Picture "Good shepherd" (Bible story) Acrylic. Artist - Viktor Yushkevich. #18 photos in 2020. Painting "Good Shepherd". This work painted by me differs from all other paintings. I put a deep meaning into it, which I want to reveal to everyone with all my heart. Maybe one of you knows the parable of the "lost sheep." As a shepherd, having lost one, he left a large herd of sheep (ninety-nine), and went to look for the one that was lost. Just imagine, he sacrificed a huge flock of sheep, for the sake of one. What love, and at the same time anxiety was in his heart that he was ready for such an act. In the Bible, Matthew 18: 12-14 verse says: “What do you think? If anyone had a hundred sheep, and one of them got lost, would he not leave ninety-nine in the mountains and would not go looking for the lost one? and if it happens to find her, then, truly I tell you, he rejoices about her more than about ninety-nine not lost. So, there is no will of your Heavenly Father that one of these little ones perishes. ” Just listen to these words, how much this parable touches the heart, isn't it ?! Inspired by this story from the Bible, I decided to clearly show you how all this could happen. Mountains, hills, the shepherd had such a difficult path. Just look at what cliffs, and how this path goes into the distance, you could just leave it, because if you take a look, the path does not end. This fog in the distance, catching up not the best thoughts. But when the lost sheep was found, it seems that everything around has blossomed! The sun peeped out and began to light up the way. Everything acquired other colors, began to play in its own way. Look how the shepherd, having clearly gone a little way, never shows his tiredness, carrying an animal not a small way on his shoulders, because he found that one, I think he is happy much more than for all those who remained to wait for him in the meadow. Could we do this? I can confidently say that I could not. Having a chance to lose everything for one person. But I wish everyone in this life to become just such a "shepherd." This place also occurs one more time, in the well-known book of the Bible, but already in Luke 15: 3-7 it was written there: “But He told them the following parable: which one of you, having one hundred sheep and having lost one of them will not leave ninety-nine in the wilderness and will not go after the missing one until he finds it? And having found it, he will take it on his shoulders with joy and, having come home, will call friends and neighbors and say to them: rejoice with me: I found my missing sheep. I tell you that in heaven there will be more joy over one sinner repenting than about ninety-nine righteous people who do not need repentance. ” Let everyone think about these words, what a force is present in them! Drawing this picture, I tried to put love in every bend, detail, little things. This is not just a picture, it is a story! Which led many people to their own path. Just look at the nature that surrounds the shepherd, incredible beauty. Flying dove, trees of incredible beauty. This slope, or mountains visible in the distance, covered with snow. Every detail is important. Nothing is missing - that’s the main thing. Friends, I wish everyone to listen and read this parable, and try to do as it is written in the Bible, the only book in the world that everyone knows about. With all my heart I will believe that there is a buyer for her, and when she hangs on the wall, he will remember this parable every time.
