Muladhara, or the Root Chakra, is the first energy center located at the base of the spine, representing stability, grounding, and a sense of security. Muladhara, the first chakra, is called the root and basis of existence. Mula means root and adhara, the basis.
Patanjali says in Sutra 2-13 of the Yogasutra:
“So long as the roots (or sanskaras) exist, their fruition will be birth, life and experience resulting in pleasure or pain.”
From this it is evident that the word mula refers to the collection of past subliminal impressions which are the roots of future karma. Thus, we can say that all the master files of karma lie in the muladhara chakra.

The third video in the series. In this video, Om swami talks about the Muladhara chakra and says that it governs the earth element. Of the five elements, the earth element is governed by the Muladhara chakra. The three humors of Ayurveda in our body are the vata, pitta and Kapha- and they denote air, bile or heat, and phlegm. The Muladhara chakra is controlled by vata. Om Swami says that if one meditated on the root plexus also known as the Muladhara chakra, then the diseases of the bone and the diseases arising out of imbalance in vata can be controlled and somewhat prevented. It also balances the earth element. The Devi here has five faces and they denote the five sense organs through which we perceive and five organs through which we do action. Kundalini is at the Muladhara chakra, at the base level, where most of the people are. If one wishes to visualize on the Muladhara chakra then the main thing to know is that its colour is a vibrant orange. This is according to the first and core text on kundalini and om Swami’s personal experience.
He further says that if we just follow and do sincerely what has been covered by him about kundalini then the awakening will surely happen as our perspective about the world and about us will change forever.
Om Swami says that until one reaches the Manipura chakra the changes that occur are reversible but once you go past the Manipura chakra any transformation occurred is irreversible, and that is the transformation worth working for. These changes then will be lifelong.

Weight-loss/gain, over or underactive sex drive, poor immune system, anemia, depression, laziness, irratible bowel syndrome are all possible physical symptoms of an imbalance within the root chakra.

Imagine you are passing urine and suddenly stop it how will you do it?

Compress the anus muscle and lower abdomen muscle to block the urine

It is called Moolabandha or closure of the anus

A person with an open and healthy root chakra lives with a stable sense of security, grounding and deep trust. This person will feel safe and comfortable in his or her body and has developed an inner stability and security, regardless of changing and uncertain external circumstances.
