Elderberry Elixir
Shared by Emilia Rizzuto of ‘All Things Elderberry’

Ingredients:
• 3/4 cup dried elderberries
• 3 cups water
• 1 teaspoon dried cinnamon or 1cinnamon stick
• 1 teaspoon dried cloves or 4 whole cloves or 1 drop clove essential oil
• 1 tablespoon fresh ginger or 1 teaspoon-dried ginger or 1 drop ginger essential oil
• 1 cup raw honey

Instructions:
1. In a large pot, bring the elderberries, water, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger to a boil.
2. Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer until the liquid has reduced by half, about 40-45 minutes.
3. Allow the liquid to cool, and then drain the liquid using a fine mesh strainer or cheese cloth.
4. Press all liquid out of the berries using the back of a wooden spoon.
5. Add the raw honey and mix well.
6. Store in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator for up to two months.

People often ask me about crystal elixirs and how to create their own, but it’s important to know how to do this safely when working with your stones in this way.

Many people don’t realize that most stones are unsafe for using in the traditional way of preparing crystal elixirs (where crystals are plunked into some water and charged in sun or moonlight).

Elixirs are immensely potent sources of nutrition and deliver unparalleled medicinal value. By learning how to integrate these into our daily life, we can not only help prevent disease, but also optimize the vibrancy of our life, health, and cognition!

While a tea may provide some energy, it lacks the caloric density to be considered a significant source of energy for the body. A health elixir is generally a medicinal tea with added superfood extracts that has been transformed into a food or light meal due to the addition of fat, carbohydrates, and protein.

So the very basic equation for a health elixir is:

elixir = tea + medicinal extracts + calories (fats, carbs, protein)

After suffering with bronchitis, constant hacking, and lack of sleep, I went on the hunt for an old school remedy “Goose Grease”. My Mama said “Let’s make it!” So I researched goose grease recipes and found a syrup recipe that was just like the Goose Grease recipe just with a different fat (Goose Fat would’ve taken too long to come in anyway) and so I tried it and it was AMAZING! Here’s the recipe and my honest review of it after 3 days. Before this syrup I went to the doctor and none of the meds worked and the nebulizer wasn’t holding me and it was getting worse. Try it!
